The Senate held a vote on Thursday to decide whether or not they were going to use their Congressional power to cancel President Trump’s national security declaration. President Trump declared a national emergency back in February in order to receive additional funding for the wall. The Senate only offered $1.375 billion instead of the $5.7 billion that was actually needed by the President. This same measure was debated by the House in February and passed the House with a 63 vote difference.
