To the editor: I've debated for months about writing this, but I know doing so is the right thing to do. I used to be an avid Republican voter/activist in Midland County. Back in 2008, I founded the Midland County Young Republicans and eventually ran for the Youth Chair position for the Michigan Republican Party and worked for then Rep. Jim Stamas. I also worked for Bill Schuette, the Midland County Republican Party and interned for Mitt Romney's president campaign. Back then, the Republican Party was more inclusive and was the party of Reagan.
